A project of the California State Library and the Pacific Library Partnership

One of the California State Library’s (CSL) priorities is to help identify, protect, preserve, and provide equitable access to the state’s cultural heritage collections and stories. CSL’s goal is to build community resilience, especially for communities that may be historically under-represented or under-served.

You are eligible to participate in this survey if you work for, volunteer at, or serve on the board of any organization that directly stewards tangible or intangible cultural heritage resources in California, or if your organization supports the others' stewardship activities.

Using funds available through the Library Services and Technology Act, CSL and Pacific Library Partnership have engaged Myriad Consultants and Frank+Glory to conduct a Cultural Heritage Landscape Analysis for California this summer. The project includes review of work completed to date, like the Collection Protection Survey, California Cultural Collections Protection Survey Report, interactive database, California Cultural Heritage Preservation Assessment Report and new qualitative and quantitative research to learn more about supports and barriers to cultural heritage preservation at the local level.

CSL wants to know how it can continue to support your organization and its cultural heritage preservation work.

Thank you in advance for taking some time (about 20-30 minutes) to complete this survey.
