November 21, 2020 – 13th Annual CICU College Access Fair

In collaboration with Fordham University and with funding awarded by The Bloomberg Philanthropies, CICU will hold an ONLINE College Access Fair & Workshops for African-American/Black and Latinx/Hispanic Students and their Families on Saturday, November 21, 2020. The Fair component of the event will take place from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. Additional information about the event and registration form to complete for your institution to participate are below.
 
There is no charge for this event as we are grant-funded. We welcome CICU member colleges and universities to represent your institution, along with selected CICU CBO partners. A Spanish speaking representative may be helpful.
How Will the College Access Fair Work?
When attendees visit the College Access Fair & Workshops website, cicu.org/CAF2020, on the day of the fair, the landing page will include a schedule and links to all the event’s components including workshops, meetings with Financial Aid Experts, and a help desk for real-time questions about navigating the event. On the landing page, attendees will find a sortable list of each participating college or university and a link to that institution’s Zoom room. As you will see below, we are asking that each institution identify itself in a number of categories which will then allow students to sort colleges based on their interests. There will also be a list for our invited partner CBOs

The Fair will be live from 12 – 2pm. Each institution/invited CBO will be asked to provide a link to their own Zoom space. If your institution does not have their own Zoom (or similar) platform, please contact Susan Nesbitt Perez (susan@cicu.org).

Tip: We strongly advise that you arrange your 2 hours as an open session format throughout the Fair – that will allow students, family, counselors to circulate from college to college. If you choose to offer some topic-specific session or videos, in addition to your open session, we also recommend that you keep them very short since we expect students to drop in and out over the 2 hours.
Registering to Participate in the College Access Fair
1. The registration form below asks that you provide the link to Zoom Meeting or Webinar or similar platform that you will use for your Fair “table” time. If the link is not yet available, please indicate “Link not yet available.” If your institution/CBO does not have its own platform account that you can use, please contact susan@cicu.org. While your university may have recommended or required settings for using Zoom, we recommend the following naming convention and settings:
