INFORMED CONSENT TO PARTICIPATE IN A RESEARCH STUDY

Project Title:  Attitudes Toward a Variety of Relationship Configurations

This is a research project being conducted by Dr. Karen Wilson, Dr. Marisa T. Cohen, Alexa Rutkowska, and Lucille Liotta in the Department of Psychology at St. Francis College.  Please read this form before agreeing to take part in this study.

If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to answer some survey questions regarding how you feel about various types of relationships. The data collected will include no information that will make it possible to identify you.

The risks in this study are minimal; your participation will require about 10 minutes of your time.  In terms of benefits, this research is not designed to help you personally, but the results may help the investigator learn more about beliefs regarding consensually non-monogamous relationships and other closely related attitudes.  We hope that, in the future, other people might benefit from this study through improved understanding of issues in romantic relationships.

Your participation in this research is completely voluntary. If you decide to participate in this research, you may stop participating at any time.

If you have any questions about the research study itself, please contact Dr. Wilson at kwilson702@sfc.edu or Dr. Cohen at mcohen@sfc.edu.

This study has been approved by the St. Francis College IRB located at 180 Remsen Street Brooklyn, NY 11201. To contact the IRB, please email Dr. Kristy Biolsi (kbiolsi@sfc.edu).
