The Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism invites nominations for the 24th Annual Justice Robert Benham Awards for Community Service.
The 24th Annual Benham Awards for Community Service ceremony will be held on
Wednesday, April 17, 2024,
in partnership with the
Georgia Legal History Foundation

Judges and lawyers meet the criteria for these awards if they have combined a professional career with outstanding service and dedication to their communities through voluntary participation in community organizations, government-sponsored activities, or humanitarian work outside of their professional practice or judicial duties. Contributions may be made in any field, including but not limited to: social service, education, faith-based efforts, sports, youth and mentoring, recreation, the arts, or politics.

Eligibility: Nominees must:

1)  Be a member of the State Bar of Georgia, in good standing, or have been a member, in good standing, at the time of death;

2)  Have a record of outstanding community service and continuous service over a period of time to one or more causes, organizations or activities;

3)  Not be a member of the Selection Committee, staff of the State Bar of Georgia or Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism.

4)  Not be in a judicial or political race for 2023 and 2024.
