This survey is intended for families who are interested in before-or-after-school care at a DDSB school.

This short survey helps the Durham District School Board (DDSB) determine if schools need to create/expand a before-or-after-school program for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years of age.

Things to know before completing the survey:


  • No guaranteed spot: Filling out this survey does not put your child on a waitlist or guarantee enrollment in a before-or-after school program at your school.
  • Cost and funding: New programs may not qualify for government funding such as the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care funding (CWELCC) to help reduce program fees. If government funding is not available, daily fees will be higher.
  • Fee Subsidy: Access to fee subsidy through the Region of Durham will not be available if CWELCC funding is not available/approved for a child care program.
  • Next steps: If enough families are interested, and if a program is deemed viable, the DDSB will provide additional details.
