The IPTC Sustainability Excellence Award recognises the outstanding efforts and impacts of companies in the upstream oil and gas industry, in innovating, adopting, and promoting key aspects of sustainable energy development at scale.

To be eligible for nomination and consideration by the Awards Committee, a company, organisation, or institution shall have made a distinguished achievement in, or contribution to, the field of societal value, health and safety, and sustainability/low carbon technologies in the petroleum industry, with a minimum capital investment of USD 50 million.

This award also celebrates initiatives that prioritise the well-being of people and communities, demonstrating a commitment to human-centered energy sustainability.

  1. Submitting a nomination requires a presentation of maximum 10 slides describing the different elements of the project to be uploaded in this form. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.
  2. Submissions will be evaluated and ranked based on clear and measurable impact of the information provided within the 10 slides.
  3. The Winner will be selected and notified by 18 December 2024.
  4. The company, organisation, or institution must designate and send a representative to IPTC 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, to receive the award. Winner will be recognised at the IPTC 2025 Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, 18 February 2025.
  5. The Winner will be required to provide a video montage (60 seconds/1 minute) to be presented during the Awards Ceremony.
  6. The Winner will have the opportunity to present their project/initiative in a showcase session during a designated session in the conference on Tuesday, 18 February 2025.
  7. The committee will select one award-winning sustainability initiative/project in this category; there will be no runner-up finalists.

Judging Criteria:
  1. Environmental Impact (60%)
  2. Societal Value (20%)
  3. Health and Safety (20%)
