This survey will inform the development of the Parks and Open Space Plan and the design for Shaffer Park for Bethel Township, in Delaware County.
The parks and open space plan will examine the use of existing open space and recreation facilities in Bethel Township and explore opportunities for new facility development, recreational trails and recreational programming to meet the needs of the current community while also planning for anticipated growth over the next 25 years.
The design for Shaffer Park will analyze this Township-owned site along Bethel Avenue for new passive features that will contribute to the recreational needs of current and future Township residents. "Passive" recreation refers to activities that do not require prepared facilities and has low impact on the surrounding environment. These activities may include jogging, walking, hiking, fishing, birdwatching, and picnicking.
Obtaining feedback from the community about the current conditions and opportunities in the Township is vital to the planning process. We would appreciate you taking the time to complete this survey, and it should take only 15 to 20 minutes of your time.
Your responses will be confidential. Responses will not be identified by name. All responses will be compiled together and analyzed as a group. The survey will be available until February 1, 2024. Results of the survey will be posted on the Bethel Township website.
