PROJECT HISTORY
Evermont is a two-phase development located at the northeast corner of South Vermont Avenue and West Manchester Avenue in South LA. This lot had been vacant and blighted since the 1992 Los Angeles Civil Uprising. Through partnerships among the County of LA, City of LA, BRIDGE Housing, the Coalition for ResponsibleCommunity Development (CRCD), Primestor and The SEED LA School, construction has begun and the developers aim to address the needs of a historically marginalized and under-resourced neighborhood.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The first phase, currently under construction, is a SEED LA college-prep Charter boarding school (approximately147,000sf) for career readiness in transportation infrastructure, STEM and the humanities. This phase is being developed by SEED LA and ExED. The second phase is a mixed-use project comprised of 180 residential units, +/-50,000sf of commercial and retail uses, 15,000sf for new METRO offices and training facility, a stand-alone multi-level parking structure, a public plaza and transit hub on 4.2 acres of urban infill land. This phase is being developed by BRIDGE Housing, the Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD) and Primestor.

ART RFP DESCRIPTION
The Evermont development team is looking for art proposals for the locations identifed in the attached Exhibit A. This is a low budget, high-impact artist opportunity. Selected artist(s) will be required to work with the development team to conduct community engagement sessions with the surrounding neighborhood. The final designs will be generated with input from these sessions. Artisist will be selected based on their understanding of the local community, its history and their capability to reflect the character of the neighborhood through artwork. Artists are encouraged to express art through a variety of mediums (ie. Augmented Reality (AR), Digital, Murals and Sculptures).

Resume or CV: Current professional resume or curriculum vitae (CV), detailing professional artistic accomplishments, list of relevant past projects, and references from previous public art projects.

Past work examples (demonstrate experience working in public locations which are subject to vandalism and weather): 5 digital images of previously completed artwork. Include image list with date, size, location, and description of work.

Letter of interest with conceptual ideas of proposed artwork: This letter should address how the applicant's previous experience and current artistic direction will result in a successful public art project for this space. Include information on how you would approach this project, particularly the community engagement portion.
