The purpose of the study

We really value our Neighbour Day hosts and every person who takes some action as part of Neighbour Day. We are seeking feedback on Neighbour Day 2019 and how we can make it even better in future years. This study is being conducted by Relationships Australia in collaboration with researchers from the Australian National University to evaluate the Neighbour Day Campaign.

Participation and withdrawal

Participation in this survey is completely voluntary and you are free to withdraw from it at any time
without prejudice or penalty. If you wish to withdraw, simply stop completing the survey.

What is involved?

You will be asked to answer short questions relating to your neighbourhood, your participation in the Neighbour Day event, and some demographic questions about yourself at two time-points (both before and after the Neighbour Day event). You will be asked to leave your email and telephone contact details so that we can get in touch with you after the event. Participation in both surveys will take approximately 15 minutes each.

As a thank you for completing this survey, we will enter you in the draw to win a $200 Bunnings voucher! Spend it on a new barbeque, outdoor setting, or decorations for your Neighbour Day event!

Risks

Participation in this study should involve no physical or mental discomfort, and no risks beyond those of everyday living.  If, however, you should find any question to be invasive or offensive, you are free to omit answering in that aspect of the survey.

Confidentiality and security of data

All data collected in this study will be stored confidentially. Only members of the research team will have access to identified data. All data will be coded in a de-identified manner and subsequently analysed and reported in such a way that responses will not be able to be linked to any individual. The data you provide will only be used for the specific research purposes of this study.

Thank you for your participation in this study.
