Concern has been expressed to the Town of Black Diamond Council by residents of the Willow Ridge and Riverwood communities regarding Recreational Vehicle (RV) parking restrictions imposed by the Town.  The Town is seeking input from all residents on this issue.

In the Town of Black Diamond, the parking of RVs is not permitted in the front yard of properties that are districted R-1C in the Town's Land Use Bylaw.  The R-1C district allows for single detached houses and related uses and only applies to the Riverwood and Willow Ridge communities.  The R-1 and R-1A districts, which also allow for single detached houses, do not impose a restriction on parking RVs in front yards.

The parking of RVs can be cause for concern:

Aesthetics:  RVs, especially large RVs, can block views of houses, lawns and gardens, reducing the overall visual appeal of the neighbourhood.

Traffic and Pedestrian Safety:  RVs can limit visibility for both pedestrians and drivers.

A drawing of an example parcel (lot) is included for visual assistance.

Please take a few moments to complete the following survey.  The results will be provided to Council following the survey closure and compilation of a report by Administration.
