BRK 24: Indications and Explicit Guidance for Soft Tissue Surgery Using Gait Analysis

Learning Objectives:
1) Describe specific gait analysis findings which are indications (and those which are contraindications) for psoas, hamstring and gastrocnemius lengthening procedures in the child with cerebral palsy
2) Discuss the surgical techniques for each soft-tissue procedure (psoas, hamstring, & gastrocnemius) and the negative impact of common pitfalls
3) Explain study design and measures for assessment of outcome for these soft tissue procedures and how outcomes assessment is incorporated into further refining surgical decision making and problem-centric gait reporting
4) Describe the interpretation method from gait data to surgical planning for psoas, hamstrings and gastrocnemius procedures
