As a Workforce Development Council, we lead the development of industry qualifications and set industry standards for the Service sector.
There are currently over 28 existing entry level credentials for the Service sector that are registered with NZQA and share similar outcomes.
We’re looking at ways to simplify this.
We've heard that people in the Service sector want and value essential and transferrable skills, and are looking for short, sharp, and stackable credentials to develop and recognise these common skills while also being able to add on technical and industry-specific options. The credential could be part of a pathway – with options from entry level to expert.
We want to know whether you support this simplified approach and what it could look like in practice.
We'll begin by asking you to share a bit about yourself and the perspective you're sharing, as well as to let us know if/how you'd like to get involved in this project.
