A lot can change in 5 years ...

It was only 5 years ago, in January 2010, that Steve Jobs announced the first iPad and it didn't ship until April of that year. In the past 5 years a lot has changed in the way we work and entertain ourselves as a result of the iPad and competitor devices.

Similarly the first iPhone was announced in January 2007, in the past 8 years a lot has changed as a result of the number of people who use one of the numerous smart phones currently available. News cycles changed as a result of everybody carrying a camera and with the ability to publish their images globally in real time via social media.

There is a whole generation of our current work force that has grown up and completed their education in the smart phone and social media era. They do not know what it is like to not have these tools available.

These two simple, and recent, technology products show that significant changes can occur in a relatively short period of time.

This research is not about technology per se, it seeks to understand what we want our discipline to look like in 5 years - and what strengths of current practice we need to build upon.

This is a case study on a potential future - your views on what a typical day in the life of a BC practitioner might look like in the year 2020.

Thank you for helping with this research, your contribution is appreciated.
