Background Information:
Improving the Thunder Bay Hydro Distribution System is a vital element of the region's socio-economic plan. High quality infrastructure enables residents and businesses to plan for the future by ensuring access to safe and reliable electricity. It also creates positive opportunities for development, while building networks that connect us to the Province and country.
In 2008, Thunder Bay Hydro set out a capital renewal plan for infrastructure investments to improve the quality and performance of its Distribution System. The Plan involves delivering key infrastructure projects and reviewing how plans will be funded and financed. As part of the process, Thunder Bay Hydro has submitted the 2017 Distribution Rate Application to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) for regulatory review.
Thanks to public support and investment, Thunder Bay Hydro has continued to deliver on our Distribution System infrastructure plan and we want to be prudent to ensure the conditions are right to proceed. This includes informing customers about the actions we are taking to effectively deliver key projects and reviewing how plans will be funded and financed.
