SMFM 2026 Global Congress: General Abstract Reviewer Application

Welcome and General Overview
SMFM is pleased to invite members to apply to be General Reviewers for abstracts for our SMFM 2026 Global Congress, happening 7-10 October in the Netherlands. The application process closes on Monday, 5 January 2026.
On Monday, 2 February 2026, all applicants will be notified of the 2026 SMFM Global Congress Program Chair and Vice Chair's reviewer selection decisions.
Global Congress General Reviewer Criteria The goal of reviewer criteria is to assure, to the best of the Program Committee and SMFM Board’s ability, those evaluating the science considered for the annual meeting program have the scientific skill set to objectively and rigorously evaluate the submissions.
Those nominated to become general reviewers must meet the respective criteria below to be considered:
Are a current member of SMFM;
Are not a Fellow, Resident, or Student;
Agree to meet the General Review deadlines: 9-19 March 2026; and
Have been the first or last author on at least 1 original PubMed searchable publication within the last 3 years.
General Review Deadlines
General Reviewers must be available to complete their assigned reviews during the General Review period:
Monday, 9 March - Thursday, 19 March 2026.
Please note that if you served as a General Reviewer for the 2025 Pregnancy Meeting abstracts and expresses interest in reviewing Global Congress abstracts, you do NOT need to complete this application.
Senior reviewers are selected through a different process and have additional requirements.
