Call for Workshop Proposals

All are welcome to join a diverse, inter-generational gathering May 2 – 5, 2019 at Mount Allison University in what is known as Sackville, NB, part of the greater territory of Mi’kma’ki, to learn about the work of the KAIROS movement while developing concrete advocacy skills for Migrant Justice, Ecological Justice, Indigenous Rights, the KAIROS Blanket Exercise, and the Women of Courage program. Streams of Justice will address the five topics above in five separate “streams.” Participants will choose one stream to participate in throughout the weekend, for learning and networking around a particular topic. There will also be two workshop times in which participants are invited to share their knowledge or skills with people in any stream, for cross-cutting workshops. In other words, workshops should offer a concrete advocacy skill that could be used in any campaign on any topic. Since the streams will be content heavy, we are not looking for more issues to be raised in the workshops. This is the time to explore the tools used in advocacy. Workshops sessions will be 90 minutes.

Examples of potential workshop topics include, but are not limited to:

Using these skills in activism and advocacy:
