We need your help to determine the future of Tyrone Boulevard (Alt 19)! |
Introduction
Alternate US 19 (a.k.a. Tyrone Boulevard), from Missouri Avenue in Downtown Clearwater to Tyrone Boulevard in St. Petersburg, is one of Pinellas County’s Investment Corridors. Investment Corridors are roadways that have been identified for future investment in enhanced public transportation, such as a higher-frequency bus service, and other infrastructure improvements to support multimodal transportation and redevelopment. Investment Corridors, like Alt 19, are selected based on their potential to link housing, jobs, and job training opportunities through redevelopment that provides people with more choices, draws activity to the area, and makes using public transportation services more convenient.
The Advantage Alt 19 study has identified 12 areas where future bus service may stop to connect the SunRunner in St. Petersburg to Downtown Clearwater. These areas may include housing, job centers, educational opportunities, shopping, entertainment and recreation, or a combination of all of the above.
