AURP 2020 Nomination for Board Service
AURP is requesting nominations for the 2020 Board of Directors.
All AURP Institutional and Corporate Members (Regular and Sustaining levels) in good standing, may nominate themselves or others, for service on the Board. Regular and Sustaining levels include Institutional and Corporate members. Further defined, the members at either Regular or Sustaining Member Level are:

Regular and Sustaining levels include Institutional and Corporate members. Further defined, the members at either Regular or Sustaining Member Level are:
- Institutional Members: Employees of institutions of higher education and their wholly-owned subsidiaries, this category includes research, or science parks and innovation districts that are engaged with university(s) through governance but are not directly employed by an institution of higher education.
- Corporate Members: Professionals instrumental in facilitating the design, planning, development, operations and strategy of university-related research, and science parks, communities of innovation, technology incubators, innovation districts or technology programs.
Board service is for an initial term of three years, with a maximum of two three-year terms allowed.
We encourage all AURP Institutional and Corporate Members to consider serving on the Board. AURP is poised for a bright future as the science and technology sector is undergoing dramatic growth and research parks are key to supporting that growth.
In accordance with the AURP Bylaws (ratified in 2017), with the addition of one additional seat on the AURP Board of Directors, there are currently five (5) board seats available this year, including the seats of up-to-three incumbent members of the Board who may be standing for re-election. With five openings on the board, per AURP By-Laws, a minimum of six (6) candidates must be on the ballot.
Additionally, pursuant with the Bylaws, the board shall consist of not less than nine (9) Institutional Regular/Sustaining Members and no more than eight (8) Corporate Regular/Sustaining Members for a total of 17 Board members. Associate Members are not eligible for election to the board.
The Nominating Committee will decide, using their discretion, which submitted nominations will be selected to appear on the ballot. The Committee's goal is to have a diverse board, which represents a broad range of different kinds of park experience.
The five candidates will be elected by the AURP membership and will commence their service as of the November 1, 2020.
