Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for a 50-minute breakout session at the 2019 Arizona School Boards Association / Arizona School Administrators Annual Conference, (December 17-19).

 

There are many ways for school boards to support and increase student success.
This year we are seeking submissions that address any of these general themes:


A. Meeting the social/emotional needs of students


B. Systemic inclusion of student voice in district decision-making


C. Teacher recruitment and retention strategies. (Include year-over-year retention/recruitment rates)


D. How to build and grow successful community partnerships


E. Embedding equity: Strategies for incorporating equity into curriculum, or school culture, policy, staffing, budgeting or district structure.  

 

We are seeking proposals that:

 ·        Enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of board members and superintendents

·        Share promising strategies and best practices that can be replicated by other districts

·        Demonstrate innovative ideas and solutions that are showing effectiveness and contributing to student success

·        Foster increased access to quality education for all students

  The DEADLINE for consideration is Friday, August 2, 2019. ASBA will conduct a first review and notify semi-finalists no later than September, 6 2019. If selected as a semi-finalist, you will be asked to provide additional details on your presentation which will assist ASBA in making final selections.

REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking presenters who:

·        Are either school board members or school district personnel or can co-present with school board member/personnel

·        Are representatives of an organization that works with schools/ districts and can include one or more district partners as co-presenters

·        Are extremely comfortable speaking in front of groups

·        Actively engage their audience while not reading from notes or other material

·         Utilize professional, quality materials, job aids and/or handouts

·        Are able to identify 2-3 learning objectives participants can expect to achieve as a result of the presentation.

·        Are available on either day of the Phoenix-based conference (12/18/19 & 12/19/19)

 NOTE: All participants are responsible for their own travel and expenses. Paid registration is required to attend the conference beyond scheduled breakout.
