EVENT INFORMATION

Date: Monday, 15 February 2027
Timings: 10:45 am – 5:00 pm (tentative)

Audience Size
Plenary: Approximately 1,500 delegates
Breakout Sessions: Up to 200 delegates per session, subject to room capacity
SPEAKING FORMATS & CONTENT

Keynote Sessions
Duration: 30 minutes per keynote

We are seeking experienced, energetic and engaging keynote speakers who can bring original thinking, strong stage presence and relevant expertise to the AIME Knowledge Monday audience.

Proposed keynote content should connect meaningfully with the 2027 theme and contribute to one of three areas:

  • Inspirational: Business opportunities, new thinking, emerging possibilities and strategies that broaden perspectives.
  • Motivational: Ideas and approaches that spark high performance, positive action and meaningful change.
  • Wellbeing: Humanity, connection and self-care, with practical relevance to how we live, lead and work.
We are particularly interested in speakers who can combine credible expertise with compelling storytelling and leave the audience with ideas they can continue thinking about or applying beyond the session.

Breakout Sessions
Duration: up to 60 minutes per session

Breakout sessions should encourage deeper learning, participation and practical application. We are seeking content that moves beyond general commentary and provides delegates with useful knowledge, frameworks, skills or perspectives.

Two types of breakout sessions will be considered:

1. Skill Development Sessions
Practical learning designed to strengthen individual and organisational capability.

Areas may include:
  • Leadership
  • Business strategy
  • Sales and marketing
  • Event design and management
  • Wellbeing
  • AI and technology
We welcome other relevant areas where the proposed content responds to an emerging professional or business need.

Preference will be given to sessions that provide clear learning outcomes and practical applications rather than presentations that primarily showcase a company, product or service.

2. Industry Association Discussion Forums

Applications are reserved for office holders, board members or authorised representatives of recognised industry associations.

These sessions provide a dedicated platform for industry associations to lead critical conversations, share knowledge and explore issues and opportunities relevant to the business events community.

Proposals should demonstrate why the conversation matters now, the perspectives that should be represented and what delegates can gain from participating.
BREAKOUT SESSIONS AV

The following standard AV is included for breakout sessions:
  • 1 x in-house lectern with fixed microphone
  • 1 x in-house projector and screen
  • 1 x roving microphone for an additional speaker or audience Q&A
The projector and screen are fixed within the room and cannot be relocated.

Staging and additional furniture, including couches or lounge furniture for panel discussions, are not included. Banquet chairs may be used for panel or discussion formats.

Any AV, staging, furniture or technical requirements beyond the standard inclusions will be chargeable and payable directly to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
SELECTION CRITERIA

AIME Knowledge Monday is a curated program and is not programmed solely through open submissions. Submission of an EOI does not guarantee selection.

Successful proposals are likely to demonstrate:
  • Credible expertise or relevant professional experience in the proposed subject.
  • A clear and compelling idea rather than a broad or generic topic.
  • Content that responds to the needs and opportunities facing today's business events professionals.
  • Fresh thinking, credible evidence, practical application or perspectives that challenge conventional thinking.
  • Clear and relevant outcomes for the audience.
  • The ability to engage a professional audience through strong communication, storytelling and/or facilitation.
  • A willingness to collaborate with the AIME Knowledge Monday curatorial team to further develop and refine the session.
  • For Keynote and Skill Development Breakout applicants, credible video examples of previous speaking engagements will strengthen the application and assist the curatorial team in assessing presentation style and audience engagement.
Commercial presentations, product demonstrations and overtly promotional content will not be considered as educational sessions.

Where appropriate, shortlisted speakers may be invited to discuss their proposal and further develop the content with the curatorial team before final selection.
SELECTION PROCESS
  1. The AIME Knowledge Monday curatorial team and Program Working Committee (PWC) will review all submissions against the selection criteria.
  2. Shortlisted speakers may be invited to a virtual conversation with the team to clarify their proposed content, approach and intended audience outcomes.
  3. Successful speakers will be notified by Friday 11 December 2026.
  4. Selected speakers will work with the curatorial team to refine their session content and ensure alignment with the overall Knowledge Monday program. From there, the curation team will provide detailed logistics and operations information.
2027 THEME AND SYNOPSIS

AIMEplify…
People Business Impact

AIMEplify celebrates the power of business events to amplify what happens when people come together with purpose.

Human connection builds relationships and trust. The exchange of knowledge and ideas creates new thinking. Conversations spark collaboration, innovation and business opportunities. When these outcomes extend beyond the event itself, they create lasting social and economic impact for organisations, industries, destinations and communities.

Grounded in a people-led mindset, AIMEplify recognises the power of AI and technology while placing human wisdom, imagination and judgement at the heart of how we shape what comes next.

Technology can amplify our capabilities, but people remain the driving force behind the ideas, decisions and possibilities that create meaningful progress.

AIMEplify invites our industry to build on what is already working, share best practices and collective wisdom, challenge conventional thinking and explore how we can create even greater value together.

At a time when information and technology are more accessible than ever, human connection, experience and wisdom become even more valuable.

AIMEplify is an invitation to think bigger about the role of business events and what we can make possible through people, business and impact.
