Why are we doing this study? 
  • To gather information on the factors that influence athletes' food choices. 
  • To validate a food choice questionnaire for high-performance athletes. 

What is required in the study? 
  • Complete a 10-20-minute questionnaire about what influences your food choices on a typical day.

Are there any benefits or risks in the study? 
  • No foreseeable risk and participation is voluntary, you do not need to give any reason if you decide not to participate. 
  • Your responses will be non-identifiable and it will not be possible to withdraw your responses after you have submitted them. 

How will the research findings be used?
  • Data from this questionnaire will assist in developing a valid athlete food choice questionnaire that can help sports dietitians provide athlete's and team's appropriate nutrition education for fuelling their performance and recovery.
  • This research will be used to produce publications for scientific journals and conferences.
  • All information will be de-identified and summarised for presentation.
