1. Introduction

The American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) is working with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) on its new Tech-Celerate Now Program, which is designed to accelerate the adoption of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology on commercial vehicles. In February 2020, TMC held at its Annual Meeting  an ADAS Adoption Committee meeting where more than 20 truck OEMs and ADAS suppliers joined ATA/TMC and FMCSA in developing how the program would work best for them.

The Tech-Celerate Now Program has identified four general performance categories of ADAS which have the potential to prevent fatalities, injuries, and crashes: braking, steering, warning and monitoring.  Does your company manufacturer or supply any of the following technologies? If so, TMC would like to know.

BRAKING
Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Air Disc Brakes (ADB)

STEERING
Lane Keep Assist (LKA)
Lane Centering Assist (LCA)
Adaptive Steering Control (ASC)

WARNING
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
Blind Spot Warning (BSW)

MONITORING
Road-facing Cameras
Driver-facing Cameras
Camera-based Mirror Systems (CMS)
