Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal for a 50-minute breakout session at the 2021 Arizona School Boards Association / Arizona School Administrators Annual Conference, December 15-17.

There are many ways for school leaders to support and increase student success. This year we are seeking submissions that address any of these general themes:
  •  Communication- Strategies for building trust and understanding, with internal and external stakeholders, through communication.
  • Climate and Culture- Strategies for creating a district/ school culture that empowers students, families, communities and staff and generates feelings of belonging and appreciation.
  • Social Emotional Learning/ Trauma-Informed Care- Strategies for promoting the well-being of students and staff.
  • Student Achievement- Strategies for addressing opportunity gaps and improving outcomes.
Presentations should include:
  • Information on the demographics of the district (student populations, location, size, etc.)
  • Resources used (people, time, dollars)
  • What stakeholders were included in the development and/or evaluation of the program/practice? How?
  • What support was needed from the board and/or administration for successful implementation?
  • Identify 2-3 learning objectives participants can expect to take away from the presentation. 

 We are seeking proposals that:

  •  Enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of board members and superintendents.
  • Share promising strategies and best practices that can be replicated by other districts.
  • Demonstrate innovative ideas and solutions that are showing effectiveness and contributing to student success.
  • Foster increased access to quality education for all students.

The DEADLINE for consideration is Friday, October 1, 2021.

 
REQUIREMENTS TO SUBMIT
  • At least one presenter must be participating as a member of the district  governing board or district employee.
  • Districts may submit no more than 2 proposals for consideration.
  • All questions in the RFP must be answered completely.
  • All presenters must be available to present Dec. 16 or Dec. 17, 2021. -- Please hold these dates. We will provide your specific date/time within six weeks of the event.
If selected:
  • All communication from ASBA will be sent to the primary contact listed on your proposal. This person will be responsible for communicating deadlines and important information with all presenters. 
  • All presenters who will be attending the conference beyond their assigned breakout time will need to pay regular registration fees. We are unable to comp breakout presenters.
  • Presenter(s) should plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled breakout.
