Instructors and Teaching Assistants
The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) is a gifted education program for school-age children founded in 1979 by psychologist Julian Stanley at Johns Hopkins University. Our Summer Programs serve close to 10,000 students finishing 2nd – 12th grade and employs 1700 academic, residential and administrative staff members at 25 sites, located in California, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington State and Hong Kong. A full list of site locations can be found at cty.jhu.edu/jobs/summer/sites_dates.html.

CTY is seeking Instructors and Teaching Assistants for our summer economics and mathematics courses. 

We are currently seeking individuals to teach the following courses:

  • Microeconomics
  • Macroeconomics
  • Game Theory and Economics
  • Probability and Game Theory
  • The Mathematics of Money

Overview and Terms of Employment
  • Core Employment Dates for 2020*:
    • Session 1: June 25 - July 18
    • Session 2: July 18 - August 8

  • Instructors (to view full position overview, click here
    • Competitive Instructor candidates typically have two years of independent classroom teaching experience, graduate coursework, and at least a bachelor’s degree.
    • Starting salary for two sessions is $4,800 - $6,000, depending on level of education and teaching experience.
    • Room and board are provided at residential sites.
    • Travel is provided to Hong Kong.
  • Teaching Assistants (to view full position overview, click here)
    • TA candidates are generally graduate or undergraduate students with content expertise and experience working with youth.
    • Starting salary for two sessions is $2,540.
    • Room and board are provided at residential sites.
    • Travel is provided to Hong Kong.
