The Mayor’s values guide our decision making, strengthen our connections to the community, and create a work environment where everyone matters. The Mayoral Awards Program recognizes employees who exhibit those values.

Mayor's Values:
  • We are STEWARDS for the District of Columbia.
  • We are LOYAL to our team and our city.
  • We are ACCOUNTABLE to each other and those we serve.
  • We are RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIVE and ACCESSIBLE.
The program consist of three (2) types of awards and recognition levels:
  • Values Champion - An employee of the District government
  • Values Team - Any team, unit, division or administration within an agency
