ASBA/ASA Annual Conference Breakout Session RFP

Thank you for your interest in presenting at our 2023 Annual Conference! This year's event is centered around celebrating educational leaders and the teams who have excelled in achieving academic excellence across our state.

The Arizona School Boards Association / Arizona School Administrators Annual Conference will take place Dec. 7 and 8, 2023, at the JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort in North Phoenix.

This year we are seeking submissions from ASBA member districts.  The 50-minute presentations will allow you to inspire and empower colleagues by sharing your playbook for success in one of these areas:
  1. Playbook on Equity: These breakout sessions will explore innovative approaches to personalizing education and experiences to meet the needs of all students. Highlight your district's success in addressing opportunity gaps and promoting equal outcomes for students and your educational teams.
  2. Playbook on School Board Governance:  These breakout sessions will explore how governance drives educational excellence. Highlight your district’s leadership traits, qualities, strategies and techniques that have led your highly functioning governing board to excel at academic achievement and employee satisfaction.
  3. Playbook on Mental Health, Wellness and School Safety: These breakout sessions will explore a topic board members from across Arizona have identified as a priority in their school districts. Highlight your district’s success in addressing employee retention, student wellness, school culture, and safety and security.
  4. Playbook on Engagement: These breakout sessions will explore programs and practices that work to leverage engagement for students, families, community members and school staff. Highlight your district’s success in empowering students and staff through meaningful engagement in the decision-making process, creating opportunities for family involvement in academic success, or establishing diverse partnerships that provide resources to the school community.

Presentations should include:

-Information on the demographics of the district (student populations, location, size, etc.)

-How this policy/practice/program contributed to student success outcomes (e.g., academic, attendance, behavior, resilience, engagement). Preference will be given to those that include data on your metrics of success.

-What support (board, administration, staff) and resources (money, time, people) were needed for successful implementation?

-2 or 3 tips for other districts interested in replicating this policy/practice/program.
