The purpose of the survey is to measure attitudes and beliefs of physicians about the current US healthcare delivery system, how it affects their patients, themselves and their families, and their interest in considering alternative models for healthcare financing and delivery.

With respect to this survey, a tax-based universal health insurance plan is synonymous with a single payer plan. The terminology does NOT imply or mean a single provider plan. A single payer plan is understood to mean having only one insurer, which collects the premiums and pays the claims. It does NOT imply or mean that the providers are employed by the insurer or government, such as in the VA system or the United Kingdom.

This survey typically takes approximately 10 minutes or less to complete.
