My name is Dr. Kathy Sanderson and I am an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Business Administration.

PURPOSE / WHAT INFORMATION WILL BE COLLECTED?

I am studying the effects of the pandemic on employment.

We are surveying people who are employed, looking for work, choosing not to work, and those who lost or found work during the pandemic. 

WHAT IS REQUESTED OF ME AS A PARTICIPANT?

I would like to invite you to participate within this research project by filling out this survey.

WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS AS A PARTICIPANT?

In filling out the survey you are a volunteer, and as a volunteer you can withdraw from the study at any time, up to the submission of the survey.

WHAT IF I WANT TO WITHDRAW FROM THE STUDY?

You can withdraw from the study at any time, up to the submission of the survey.

After the point of submission, the data from the survey collected will be completely anonymized and you will be unidentifiable. We will not ask for your name or employer.  Only the research team will have access to the surveys.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS AND BENEFITS?
The risks associated with participating in this research are minimal. You will be asked questions related to your own opinion and perceptions regarding the effects of the pandemic on your life and employment.  Participating in this survey will have no negative impacts on employment or immigration status. Should you experience any discomfort, you can terminate the survey.  We are not collecting any identifying information and all information is anonymized. The benefit of participating in this survey is to contribute to the knowledge and provide recommendations for skills innovation, recovery, and new ways forward for Northern Ontario in the face of economic shock due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 This will require approximately 15 minutes of your time. Participants will also be given the opportunity to be entered to win one of six $100 dollar gift cards.

HOW WILL MY CONFIDENTIALITY BE MAINTAINED?
Your responses will remain anonymous, and any identifying information will be removed, anonymized, and will not be revealed in any materials. With your consent to participate in this study, you acknowledge this.
