Whānau Ora Survey |
Te Ora Hou Aotearoa - Whānau Ora Survey
This is a resource Te Ora Hou Aotearoa (www.teorahou.org.nz) developed for use amongst our kaimahi and whānau. We thought it might be worth sharing as we have found it helpful.
Professor Mason Durie (http://www.treasury.govt.nz/publications/media-speeches/guestlectures/pdfs/tgls-durie.pdf/view) suggests a way to measure the wellbeing of whānau is to assess the collective capacity to perform tasks that are within the influence and purpose of whānau.
Six primary capacities have been identified:
- Manaakitanga: the capacity to care;
- Pupuri Taonga: the capacity for guardianship;
- Whakamana: the capacity to empower;
- Whakatakato Tikanga: the capacity for long term planning;
- Whakapūmau Tikanga: the capacity to endorse Māori culture, knowledge and values; and
- Whakawhānaungatanga: the capacity for consensus.
This brief anonymous survey has six sections and is designed to help whānau think about our strengths and areas for possible development as a whānau.
Your results will pop up at the end of the survey to read, print and/or save.
We welcome your feedback!
