Every year, the Associate of Monterey Bay Area of Governments (AMBAG) makes decisions about how millions in funding will be spent across the three Monterey Bay Area counties. These funds are used to improve the Monterey Bay Area’s public transit system, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure; and local roads, and highways. AMBAG serves as the regional forum for the study and discussion of regionally significant issues, including housing, transportation, sustainability, and environmental quality. AMBAG strives to inform and involve its jurisdictions and the general public throughout its various programs, projects, and work activities conducted by the agency.
