Training Description

Following registration completion, you will be directed to the recorded training video.

Effective August 1, 2020, a prenatal alcohol exposure screening is required for any child entering foster care in Minnesota as soon as practicable but no later than 45 days after the removal of the child from the child’s home, if the agency has determined that the child has not previously been screened or identified as prenatally exposed to alcohol. To ensure that the screening is conducted in accordance with existing best practice guidelines, Proof Alliance developed this recorded training, which will address the following:

* Fundamental information on FASD
* Recognition of stigma and bias
* Screening questions
* How to implement the screening
* What to do with the screening results
* How to enter the data into SSIS
* Resources and referrals

The training consists of a recorded webinar and supplemental materials to aid in the screening process.

After you answer the registration questions, you will be redirected to the recorded webinar for the training.

We have also provided supplemental materials, including handouts and videos, that demonstrate how to ask about prenatal alcohol exposure and how to refer to an FASD diagnostic clinic.
