Building Bridges

Guidelines & Terms for applications, Toronto Change Days 2020: November 6 -  8, 2019
As a facilitator of the Toronto Change Days (https://torontochangedays.com), you will be part of an exciting international crowd that explores the boundaries of our discipline, including connecting with Berlin Change Days! You will have the opportunity to discuss your ideas and approaches for supporting the transformation of organizations and society. Be part of the Toronto Change Days Community by offering a  90 minute interactive workshop session contributing your experience, excitement, and energy to the effort of building bridges for the future. On purpose, we want to keep the theme of the conference broad to inspire creative workshop hosts! But certainly, you should make sure that your proposal fits into the wider frame: BUILDING BRIDGES!

Next: Please read the terms of engagement before you submit your proposal.
1. FORMAT. Workshop slots are 90 minutes. If required, we may ask you to deliver your workshop twice or to join with other facilitators to create a mash-up.
2. STYLE. From the experience of similar events held in Berlin, we know that participants like interaction. They also appreciate the facilitator's flexibility and agility. Workshops are not to focus on selling a product, such as a tool, method, book, etc. Rather, workshops should focus on the principles that are behind the product/tool and the impact it may have on individuals and organizations. We are looking in particular for workshops where participants "feel", experience and explore within our theme of "Building Bridges" in, on and around the change space.
3. MONEY. In exchange for your input to the Toronto Change Days, one facilitator’s admission to the conference will be complimentary (no cost). If a second facilitator is attending, they will be provided with a discount of 30% on the registration fee.  We cannot cover any facilitator fees or travel costs.
4. ATTENDANCE. As facilitators are part of the TCD team and participants, it is expected that all facilitators will attend the entire conference and come for a briefing prior to the conference on Nov 6 at 3:00 PM.
5. HARVEST. We would like to harvest the insights gained through the interaction that you have with the participants. Remembering that your audience has deep expertise in change, human systems, and organizational dynamics, this is an opportunity to mix your content with some very bright minds. We would like to see the results in sharable form - perhaps as a blog, a series of sound-bytes, an image or an interview. That will ideally start before the TCD and will be completed afterward the weekend.
6. SELECTION. We anticipate receiving more applications than we can accept. Therefore we will have to select rigorously. If we believe that your proposal fits, you will be interviewed by one of our team members, and a final decision will be made in late March 2020. Once selected, you will have access to a TCD coach, who will set monthly check-ins with you for the months leading up to the event.  Leveraging our coaches supports you in developing your workshop to ensure it meets the high expectations of the audience.
