My name is Dr. Shoshana Dayanim. Dr. Kelly Schmitt and I are Developmental Psychologists conducting an online research study including children between the ages of 8-14 years from across the nation in order to better represent the views of preadolescents from all areas of the United States.
The purpose of the study is to find out if there is a connection between children’s television/video viewing habits and their beliefs about people of various races, ethnic groups, cultures, and religions. There are no right or wrong answers and children can give neutral answers or check ‘I don’t know.’ They may also quit at any time without penalty.
Because we are interested in children’s TV watching, it is important to tell you that this study is not connected with any company or organization affiliated with the production of TV programs or the manufacturing or distribution of TVs and related devices.
You may view the survey before you agree to have your child participate. If you wish to do this, please continue clicking forward but please do not respond to the items as these are for your child to complete.
We appreciate your cooperation and participation in this study. If after you read the following consent form, you decide to allow your child to be a participant in this study, please forward the survey link to your child. The study will conclude on April 1st, 2021.
This study has been approved as meeting ethical standards by the Keiser University Institutional Review Board (IRB). If you would like more information or have questions concerning IRB approval, you may contact: the IRB at email@example.com .
