SUPPORT GROUP INTEREST SURVEY: ADOPTIVE PARENTS

This is a survey to assess interest in a *virtual* support group for adoptive parents. People anywhere in the U.S. would be welcome. This is a monthly, virtual group, Mondays 5:30pm-6:45pm CST. Cost is $50 per person, per meeting. Facilitator will be Lauren Butcher, LCSW, Lead Therapist at FindSelf Counseling. Lauren's specialties include post adoption with adult adopted people, childhood/adult trauma, domestic/sexual violence, DNA discoveries, identity distress, depression, anxiety, and EMDR. Individuals and couples currently involved in an open/active case with Child Protective Services in the state of Texas are ineligible to participate.

Topics include (but not limited to): how to support the adopted person/people in your family in regard to search and reunion, identity evolution, how adoption may have turned out differently than you expected, how to show up as an advocate for the adopted person, having courageous conversations, interactions with first family, and more. This group is NOT focused on behavior modification of the adoptee.

Once you finish the survey, we will contact you to arrange a screening session (no cost) to discuss next steps.
