BACKGROUND
The Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC) is an inclusive and comprehensive global support platform, providing assistance in nutrition preparedness, response, and recovery in humanitarian emergencies. As a holistic platform, the GNC provides comprehensive Nutrition in Emergencies (NiE) support in coordination, information management (IM), and programming through virtual and in-country services. The GNC unites, collaborates with, and serves a diverse network of partners to coordinate response efforts and strengthen nutrition programming – ensuring affected and vulnerable populations receive the nutrition support they need during humanitarian emergencies.
The GNC collective is comprised of international NGOs, UN agencies, academia and resource partners, with UNICEF as the Cluster Lead Agency (CLA) for nutrition.
After considering the long process of advertising, selecting and recruiting individual consultants for nutrition in emergencies or preparedness work, the GNC is looking to grow its roster of consultants in different technical areas, that will be regularly updated and will speed up the recruitment process at country level.
