So what is Afropop Digital? It will constitute a vast musical and cultural digital archive --a one-of-a-kind resource for the lover of music from Africa and the African diaspora. Afropop Digital’s fully streamable content will include:
  • Expanded, “producer’s cut” versions of the weekly radio program
  • Hundreds of thousands of rare songs from the Afropop collection with curated playlists to help guide you through
  • Hours and hours of never before heard original field recordings and interviews made over the 35 years of Afropop’s research life
  • A wealth of biographical and historical information, as well as countless photographs
  • Access to live online events: musical performances, interviews, discussions, video premiers, etc.
Afropop Digital will be available through a monthly or yearly paid subscription.

In addition to funding the growth of Afropop Worldwide, the subscription fee will enable us to continue to digitize the rare and valuable content in our archive. This will help fulfill Afropop’s larger mission of preserving African music and history and disseminating it to the widest possible audience.
