Active Minds is excited to announce the establishment of the Active Minds Emerging Scholars Nash Family Scholarship, created with generous support from Avi and Sandra Nash. This academic scholarship will be awarded to three (3) emerging professionals to support their pursuit of masters-level education in a mental health-related field (i.e. counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, health science, etc.).

 Applicants must be:

  • A graduating college senior (graduating during the 2021-2022 academic year) OR recent alumnus (graduated in the last three years) of a four-year U.S. college or university
  • U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident
  • Planning to pursue a masters-level graduate degree in a mental health-related field at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
  • Able to demonstrate financial need
  • Actively working to secure funding from other sources, including the school of study. The awardee will be responsible for funding at least $5,000 of total annual expenses, with scholarship funding the remaining up to $15,000.
Applications will be accepted from January 20, 2022 through February 28, 2022. All applicants must complete the required application, submit an essay, and provide a current transcript (unofficial is acceptable during this phase). Semi-finalists will then be selected and invited to provide a more detailed application and two recommendations. The final scholarship recipients will be announced in May 2022.
