Award Description:

This award is to recognize an ACF chef who best exemplifies the highest standard of professionalism in today's kitchen, through certification, continuing education and training, culinary competitions, development of young culinarians and community involvement. To honor active, working chefs who run the day-to-day operations of a full-service dining facility and supervise its kitchen brigade.
The complete application must include:
· A completed application
· A professional resume and biography of the candidate
· A complete list of activities that include supporting documentation for each item within the
  candidate eligibility requirements
· A letter of recommendation from an active/current chapter member
· A high resolution, digital, color photograph of candidate in a white chef coat 
                  · (minimum 300 dpi, .tif or .jpeg format, minimum
                     1200x1600 pixels)

· All required materials must be submitted before deadline - midnight on November 1, 2020
Candidate Eligibility:
Candidate cannot be running for any other regional or national award from ACF and must:
• Be a current, Professional Culinarian level member of ACF and an outstanding member of a
   local chapter.
• Be certified by ACF at the sous chef level or higher for a minimum of five years.
• Must submit a letter of recommendation from an active current chapter member
   Documentation required.
• Be or have been employed as a chef in a full-service dining facility for at least three of the
   last five years.
• Devote personal time and effort to the professional development of qualified young culinarians
   within the past 10 years; please describe.
• Be personally involved in continuously improving and upgrading personal professional status
   through continuing education and/or college degree programs.
• Be an active member of other trade-related professional associations.
• Be an active participant in ACF-sponsored culinary art shows or any culinary activities
   where professional excellence can be documented.
• Enhance the local chapter's professional image in the community by involvement with
  local charities, schools, businesses and other community organizations.
• Not have applied for any other regional or national award.

NOTE: Past regional winners may reapply after five years. Past national winners cannot reapply. Nominees appearing on a ballot must wait one year between nominations.

I hereby certify that the information I have submitted is correct. Furthermore, I grant permission to the American Culinary Federation and its subsidiaries to use the information included in my application in print and electronically for promotional purposes, which may include video and/or photography. I understand that I will not be compensated and that I may not be notified of each use. I understand my presence is required in order to accept the award, or I void the agreement stated in the application guidelines and the next competitor that is present will receive the award. Also, I agree that all decisions made by the awards task force are final and not subject to appeal.

Selection Process for the ChefConnects:
Each past Chef Pro winner in good standing, as defined by the ACF Bylaws within your region, will have one vote. Ballots will be sent to the past Chef Pro winners electronically from the national office on or before the last working day of November and must be returned to the national office by the posted deadline.

Notification of advancement: January 2021
The regional winners will be announced at the corresponding regional conference during the regional ChefConnect awards ceremony. Attendance is required at the candidates regional ChefConnect to receive the award.

Selection Process for the National Convention:
The four regional winners will vie for the national award. Each ACF member in good standing will have one vote. Ballots will be sent to the ACF membership electronically from the national office by the last working day of May and must be returned by the posted deadline for mid-June.

The ballots will be counted and the results kept confidential until the national convention. In the case of a tie, the national president's ballot will be counted to break the tie.

The national winner will be announced at the national convention. Attendance is required.

NOTE: Schedule conflicts will not be accommodated and incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
