Generation Housing Justice is a National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) fellowship program for young adults (ages 18-24) seeking mentorship and developing their leadership in national housing advocacy.

Selected fellows will receive a $1,000 stipend upon successful completion of the program and travel support to attend NLIHC's Housing Policy Forum in DC. Successful completion involves attending virtual biweekly meetings January-June 2027; attending NLIHC's Housing Policy Forum and Capitol Hill Day in DC, March 2-5, 2027; and completing a final project contributing to NLIHC's mission.

Current active NLIHC members will have preference in selection. It is a requirement that fellows will become an active dues-paying member of NLIHC by the Housing Policy Forum in March. Dues are paid on a yearly basis. Our suggested amount for students and low-income individuals is $5 but can be little as $1. Financial support can be provided for those whom this presents a barrier.

Application deadline is November 13, 2026 at 11:59pm ET. All applicants will be notified by December 11 of acceptance. People with lived experience of housing instability and/or homelessness are encouraged to apply.

If you have any questions, or if you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application process, please contact outreach@nlihc.org or 202-507-7452.
