1. Cider Style Submission Form

In the fall of 2017, USACM released the first version of its consumer-facing style guide. The guide was developed to encourage more uniform style-language within the industry. The ultimate goal of this guide (and our broader Lexicon Project) is to help consumers more easily find a cider that matches their personal taste preferences.

We've committed since our first release to soliciting annual feedback on the guide. After evaluating the 2018 submissions from our members and stakeholders, we made some updates to the guide and released V2.0 last winter.

The guide is designed to be a living, evolving document and industry input is critical to its success. That's why we built an annual feedback window into the program from the start.

It's that time again and we are asking you--the US cider industry--to share with us suggestions for additional styles or updates to existing ones. These suggestions will be carefully considered for V3.0.

A few things to keep in mind:
-If a style is place-based, evidence supporting your argument will make your case stronger.
-Our guide is not the TTB's guide.
-Our guide is designed for consumer conversations.
-USACM works for the entire cider industry. Language that prescribes a judgment on a particular style does not reflect our mission or philosophy.
-You must enter EACH submission separately--the form will only handle 1 submission at a time.

Please carefully review the existing style guidelines for a template and tone. You can find them here.

This submission form will be open until July 31, 2019. Thanks for helping the industry evolve!
