Champions for Impact Stories
The Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) is gathering inspiring stories and short messages from across the Commonwealth to highlight individuals who are making a meaningful impact in public education. We invite school divisions to share a short video or a brief paragraph with a photo showcasing students, teachers, administrators, alumni, school board members, or superintendents who are "Champions for Impact"—whether at the local, state, or national level.
Examples of "Champions for Impact" include:
Examples of "Champions for Impact" include:
- A student earning their Eagle Scout or Gold Award
- A group of students leading a meaningful initiative at their school
- An individual giving back to their school or community
- Someone in the school division whose achievements have gained state or national recognition
- A school board member sharing how their role has positively impacted the students in their school division
- A student serving as a student school board representative
We encourage board members, students, and school staff to grab their phones and record a short video or submit a written story or message. Consider featuring teachers who graduated from your school division and returned to teach, alumni making a difference in your community, or students leading impactful efforts. A simple message such as, "I am a Champion for Impact through community service," can also be a powerful addition to this initiative.
