EXTENDED DEADLINE:  Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Please complete all fields to propose a presentation for the 2024 NEUAC Annual Conference in Chicago on May 22-24, 2024, with preconference activities on May 21.

NEUAC is interested in presentations that speak directly to our mission to improve utility affordability for economically distressed and other eligible households. A broad list of potential topics is listed in the questions below. Priority themes requested for 2024 include sessions:
  • Featuring both utility and nonprofit speakers addressing energy poverty
  • Pertinent to the daily activities of nonprofit and/or utility energy assistance program staff
  • Featuring or pertinent to tribes or indigenous communities
  • Exploring energy equity
Tips:
Proposals are reviewed by a committee of NEUAC members. Sessions that often stand out:
  • Include interactive components that involve the audience
  • Feature a panel of 2-3 speakers that incorporate ideas from across the country in energy assistance program design
  • Focus on substantive storytelling from the perspective of a utility, nonprofit, tribe, or government (*Vendor/exhibitor sessions are available for a fee for product demos. Contact info@neuac.org.)
Session Format:
Proposals are typically selected for breakout sessions, which are 60 or 75 minutes and will take place on May 22 and 23. Occasionally, NEUAC may request two proposals to be combined into a single session, or a session be expanded to a longer "deep dive" session. NEUAC provides a moderator to assist with opening and facilitation of Q&A.

Next Steps / Notifications:
Successful proposals will be selected and speakers notified before December 31, 2023. If you have received no communication at that time, NEUAC thanks you for your submission and releases the presentation from consideration. Presentations not selected will not be contacted.

Registration:
Speakers will be offered a 50% discount on registration for the conference, which will be held at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk. Travel expenses are generally the responsibility of the speaker. NEUAC has limited funding to support speaker travel, which is prioritized for small nonprofit members of NEUAC, members of tribes and other indigenous groups, and recipients of program services.
