Tsíná'ęę for your support of First Alaskans Institute

First Alaskans Institute is excited to host our 11th Annual Howard Rock & Ted Stevens Smokehouse Gala on November 19th, with virtual components spread throughout the month of November culminating in the finale – our in-person gala at the Dgheyey Kaq’; Dena’inaq ełnen’aq’ qilan (Anchorage, Alaska; lands of the Dena’ina). We are overjoyed to finally gather to celebrate the beauty and the contributions of our Native peoples with our statewide community!

As we prepare for this signature Indigenous event and fundraiser, we want to ask you for your help! We are requesting donations of art, performances, events, gift baskets, excursions, or gift certificates for the silent auction or to be used as raffle prizes. If you wish to make a donation, please complete one survey submission per item below (refresh page once done).

We value our Native artists and love highlighting your work. For Native artists that contribute silent auction items that collectively value $150 or more, we are pleased to offer complimentary artist booth space at our 2023 FAI Statewide Elders & Youth Conference (a value of $275) and recognition with a small ad highlighting your work in our First Alaskans Magazine. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your donation to FAI may be tax-deductible.

If you choose to donate an original piece that you have not yet created, we encourage you to document your creation so we may include a 1-3 min video of your process in the Our Ways of Life in Action Artist highlight feature. These videos are optional and certainly not required to donate, but it could help to showcase your art and story, and help others learn about respectful harvesting and processing. Our ways of life are our medicine and we’d be honored if you shared with us – please reach out to let us know if this opportunity is of interest and we can work with you on ideas for what to capture and how to submit it.

Please note, our deadline for donated items is November 7th -
the virtual silent auction will go live on November 11th and run through November 19th.

Donations can be mailed directly to our office: 600 E Street, Suite 200, Anchorage, AK 99501; or you can reach out to Cutmen Candace Branson at cutmen@firstalaskans.org or (907) 677-1710 to arrange pickup in Anchorage (pick up may also be possible in Juneau, Fairbanks, Sitka, Yakutat, Kodiak or Kake).

Tsíná'ęę for your thoughtful donations and support of First Alaskans Institute! With your help we will collectively help to advance our Native peoples for the next 10,000 years!
