The HR Florida State Council and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) are proud to announce the Spirit of Patriotism Award. This award honors a Florida-based human resources professional who has supported the Guard and Reserve by educating themselves, their employer, and/or their local SHRM chapter; and has made a positive impact on not only the employees who are part of the Guard, Reserve, and/or spouses of Guard and Reserve members, but also on the organization’s acceptance the employee’s service to our country. Nominations will be reviewed based upon efforts made by the nominee and results of programs implemented, along with any supporting documentation.

  • Award presented at the October Leadership Conference attended by HR chapter leaders from around the state
  • Detailed coverage in the HR Florida Review magazine with a readership of over 15,000
  • An honorarium of $500 to the winner
Eligibility

 Nominees must be either a member of SHRM, of their local SHRM-affiliated chapter, or both. Self-nominations are welcomed and encouraged.

Guidelines
  • Entries must be received no later than September 1, 2020
  • Submission of the entry implies support and approval of the entry by the nominee.
  • Chapters may nominate more than one candidate.
  • Incomplete entries may be disqualified at the discretion of the selection committee.
  • At the discretion of the selection committee, an award winner may not be chosen.
The selection committee is comprised of active HR Florida State Council Members and ESGR representatives.
