Team Leaders and Team Members are being assembled for the upcoming Point-in-Time (PIT) Count of Unsheltered Homeless on the evening of January 30, 2019. The count will take place from 10PM - 2AM.

If you are a Team Leader, please complete this form and click on the “Submit” button at the bottom to submit it to the Homeless Action Network of Detroit (HAND) staff for processing.

Team Leaders will be responsible for the following:

1) Assembling and leading their team
2) Acting as the primary point of contact for the team
3) Ensuring data collection forms are completely correctly and returned to HAND staff
4) Arranging for a large vehicle (preferably a van) for team members and for transporting resources for the homeless (coats, blankets, large boxes, etc.)

Teams should consist of four (4) members:

Note: There should be at least one (1) male identified on each team for security purposes.

1) Team Leader (1) – to assemble a team as described, receive training in advance, ensuring team members attend training prior to Count Night, provide vehicle for team members including a street ambassador.
2) Team Members (2) – to be the go-to persons for the leader, assisting as directed.
3) Street Ambassador (1) – a person currently homeless or homeless within the past six months, to be able to even more effectively connect with the (other) homeless in the count area, to know them

HAND will try their best to configure teams based on selections entered. Please note that teams may be reconfigured based on need in order to provide the best coverage possible for this one-night count.
