This form is designed to be completed by individuals who would like to be considered for a position on the Board of Directors.

The Foundation for Excellence
The Foundation for Excellence (FFE) is a unique innovation by the City of Kalamazoo and private donors to address systemic challenges to the prosperity of the City. The FFE provides $70.3 million to stabilize the City's budget, lower the property tax rate, and invest $10 million in aspirational community projects per year in 2017, 2018 and 2019. During this period, a fundraising campaign will seek to raise $500 million to fully endow the FFE and sustain its work in perpetuity.

The FFE's financial model is structured to do the most good with the most efficient use of resources possible. The FFE works to establish strategic partnerships with organizations whose mission and work aligns with the goals and objectives of the Imagine Kalamazoo 2025 Strategic Vision and Master Plan, the Shared Prosperity Kalamazoo plan, and the City of Kalamazoo. These plans are built around the City's deep investment in broad community engagement and collaboration. Each reflects a pathway to improve life for all residents of Kalamazoo.

Applications for the TWO open seats (Faith Sector & Nonprofit Sector) on the Board of Directors are currently being accepted until 11:59PM ET, January 31, 2019. The expected term of service for each of these seats is three years, 6/1/19 - 5/31/22, with an option for reappointment at that time.

If you think you could be a valuable asset as a member of the Board of Directors for this exciting endeavor, we invite you to continue on to the following pages to tell us more about yourself. This process should take about 10-20 minutes to complete.
