Dear Speaker,

Thank you for agreeing to speak at SSP’s 39th Annual Meeting held at the Westin Boston Waterfront on May 31-June 2, 2017. This agreement serves two principal purposes:

1) to give the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) the non-exclusive right to audio and video record your presentation and use and/or re-distribute the recording and accompanying handouts and other presentation materials (such as slides) in any manner on a royalty-free basis following the presentation, and

2) to assure SSP that your presentation and accompanying materials are your own original work, that you have obtained any necessary copyright permissions, that the work does not infringe anyone else’s copyrights and is not defamatory, that you have the full right and ability to make this license, and that you agree to hold SSP harmless from any lawsuits resulting from the inaccuracy or breach of these assurance.

Please note this online agreement is a non-exclusive license, giving us permission to use your written and spoken words following the presentation; it does not in any way transfer ownership of this intellectual property to SSP and does not in any way restrict your ability to use or profit from the intellectual property in the future.

Please note: "Annual Meeting" also encompasses the pre-meeting seminars.

* By checking the "I agree" radio button below, I affirm I hereby grant to the Society for Scholarly Publishing, including all subsidiaries and affiliates thereof (hereinafter referred to singularly and collectively as “SSP”), a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license and release to exercise all rights of whatever kind or nature now or hereafter protected by the Copyright Laws of the United States of America and all foreign countries in and to the program authored by me and presented at the SSP event named herein, including but not limited to my spoken words, any accompanying audio-visual or electronic presentations, and any accompanying written or electronic handout materials (hereinafter referred to singularly and collectively as the “work”). If presentation or materials contains work made for hire, I represent and warrant to SSP that I have the authority to bind my employer to this license and release agreement.

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, I further grant to SSP and its designees the rights to record, edit, publish, reproduce, reprint, distribute, display and otherwise make use of the work, and authorize SSP and its designees to use the my name, likeness, photograph, and biographical data in connection with their use and promotion of the work.

It is understood that, other than the good and valuable consideration received for this license and release, I have received and will receive no royalty or other monetary compensation from SSP or its designees for the rights granted hereunder and the subsequent use of the work by SSP and its designees.

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless SSP and its officers, directors, members, employees, and agents, from and against any and all claims, actions, losses, demands, costs, attorneys’ fees, and all other expenses relating or incidental to, or arising directly or indirectly from, the inaccuracy or breach of any of the aforementioned warranties and representations.
