Welcome!

Thank you for participating in our survey. Your feedback is important.

The Core Body of Knowledge is the basis for training, education and on-going professional development essential to the profession of childhood care and education. In essence it embodies what professionals should know and be able to do to effectively care for and educate Oregon’s young children, ages 0-8, with special consideration for children 9-12 years old.

The Guide to the Core Body of Knowledge for Oregon’s Childhood Care and Education Profession (Guide to the CBK) meets a variety of needs across various target audiences.

In 2014, the Oregon Center for Career Development in Early Childhood Care and Education (OCCD) was asked by the Oregon Department of Education Early Learning Division to review and update the Core Body of Knowledge and the corresponding Guide to the CBK.  The most recent prior review was conducted in 2007.

Before taking this survey, it is important that you review the draft document, which can be found at http://www.pdx.edu/occd/occd (copy and paste into your address bar).

Thank you for taking time to review the draft of The Guide to the CBK and providing your input!
