We'll provide meals and a place to camp for event participants. You are welcome to come for all or any part of the event, and no previous trail-building experience is necessary!

Finish the season right where it started — on a high note. Deepen your connection with the Merrimac Preserve, plus upgrade to better signage and better tread to make the Trail glorious for all who hike it in Devil’s Lake State Park. If you’ve never been in the mighty Baraboo Range at the peak of the fall colors, this is the time to see it. Trail highlights include upgrading over 8 miles of existing trail signage to National Scenic Trail standards, tread maintenance, tread plumbing and rock work on as much ground as we can cover in 3 1/2 days, and ........

WHAT TO BRING: Sturdy hiking or work boots, leather work gloves, daypack, water bottles, long-sleeve shirt and pants, hat, raingear, towel, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and personal needs.

DAY PLAN: Work starts at 8am; additional details will be available several weeks before the event. Lunch will be in the field. Follow the yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs.
