Volunteer Registration

During a 24-hour period in the last ten days of every January, homeless advocates across the nation seek to count homeless persons within their coverage areas. The Point in Time (PIT) Count greatly affects funding, both private and public, for homeless services and affects the methodology of those services. A thorough count is crucial in identifying and understanding both the progress we’ve made and the gaps within our services. We believe that this would be a unique opportunity for organizations, ministries, and colleges/universities to engage our target population while providing a great service to your local community.

PIT Count Survey Volunteers will attempt to count homeless persons on the street where they are staying and in locations where they are accessing services. Some physical exertions may be required. If you have any concerns about the physical requirements, please let the volunteer coordinator know at follow-up. The count will be conducted in a 24-hour period on January 24, 2019. Volunteers are generally needed for two-hour shifts.
The PIT Count utilizes an app to collect surveys. Survey volunteers will need to be able to use a mobile device with the PIT Count App downloaded.
